Today in learning the author of Perspolis had passed away, I realized the weight of this loss.
Despie the misconception of how people view graphic novels are similar to comics, whew. Over the years I have learned how specific a language graphic novels are and how most of the misconceptions are incorrect.
There has been no better time to connect the value of graphic novels, tied to global events, tied to literacy, tied to the chance to check it out more this summer.

The power of discovering the connections that, when unearthed, like the theme of Delaware’s summer reading program, is limitless. As June brings us to the month of the Audiobook and Rainbow Book Month, it is even more an underlying them to keep an open mind to all that comes our way.
